Safety comes first

You and your family's safety is our priority, so we always tackle any health risks caused by the blockage before fixing the problem. We have a range of products that’ll do the job, like the Watertight Non-return Valve, which we can fit to the manhole on your property in minutes. Particularly helpful in flood-prone areas, this small plastic valve can stop rising water, bad smells, sewage or even rodents from coming back up the pipes into your home.

Operating since 1987, Peter Fitzsimmons started Fitzsimmons upon leaving the Royal Navy, after 24 years of service. Based in Fareham, Fitzsimmons quickly built up a strong business, servicing local residential and business customers.

By the time he retired in 2006, Fitzsimmons had a 5-strong team of engineers. Peter was able to hand the business over to his son, Chris, in 2006. Chris continued to grow the business, doubling it in size three times over the last six years thanks to his focus on service and technology capability. Fitzsimmons currently employees 35 field operatives and 15 office-based staff.

We’ve recently enrolled in the apprentice scheme, and our first apprentice will start in September 2014, with a groundwork course. Our employees are our priority, so we support and sponsor Crofton Saints under 12's football team, as two of our employees’ children play for the team.

We engage in various other charitable initiatives. Recently we supported Macmillan Cancer Trust through an auction and fun day raising over £800; Brain Tumour Research, through Wear a Hat day, which raised £300.00.

Four members of staff took part in the moon walk (1/2 Marathon) in May for Breast Cancer UK, and two also signed up to do the Moonlight walk (12 miles) in June and run race for life in July and the 26.2 miles Shine walk.
