Top Winter tips for your drains
Help avoid blocked drains this Winter:
• Regularly clear away any leaves located near gutters to prevent them from falling into the drain pipe.
• Cover external gullies using grate covers which can help prevent debris and leaves obstructing the water flow.
• Do not pour grease or fat down the kitchen sink or toilet as over a period of time, this can result in blocked drains.
• As a preventative measure to clear any build up of waste, pour boiling water down the kitchen sink followed up with hot soapy water on a weekly basis. Or alternatively if it is safe to do so and everyone is out of the house, pour a bottle of bleach down the plughole, fill with warm water and cover the plughole.
