Flushing your system

Over time, central heating pipes and radiators become clogged by deposits from the hot water surging through your system. So, if you feel you aren’t getting the best out of your radiators any more, call us and we’ll carry out a procedure called Powerflushing™.

How we do it

When we Powerflush™ your central heating system, we feed a cleaning agent through your central heating systems that rinses away the impurities that have built up inside the pipes and radiators. You won’t believe the difference it makes to how quickly your radiators heat up afterwards.

Common causes of leaks and bursts

Our advice is to be extra careful about your pipe work if the pipes look old, they could corrode and become brittle.

Pipework exposed to the elements can freeze or decay and become a problem area susceptible to leaks, as can pipework buried within a wall or solid floor, pipe work incorrectly installed or not fully supported.

DIY type work, drilling through pipes whilst hanging a picture or fitting a shelf is a common cause of impromptu leaks. Nailing a pipe whilst fitting a carpet or attending to a squeaky floorboard is also a major contributor to the number of water leaks we attend.

When winter comes and it starts to freeze outside, the water in your pipes can freeze, too, expanding and putting pressure on your pipes. If your pipes are leaking, they may be on their way to breaching, so fix them first.
