When you want to lock up safe and sound,
Call us and we’ll get your doors and windows up to scratch

First things first – your main entrances

All main entrance doors (front and back) should be fitted with locks meeting British Standard 3621. Our advice is that mortice and sashlocks offer the best protection against forced entry, including attempts using a lockpick, drill or hacksaw. Locks with spring catches can easily be opened by burglars and we advice that these should be replaced.

Once you have locks that make the grade in place, what about security when you’re at home? We can fit your home’s main entrance with an access control system so you can screen who you let in. We can also fit security chains and door viewers to help you identify visitors before you open your door to them.

Why you can trust us to make your doors and windows secure:

  • We’re the UK’s largest mobile emergency locksmith service
  • Fixed price quotes - no call out charge - all work guaranteed
  • Full range of locks, alarms, access control and CCTV systems
  • All work fitted and maintained to current British Standards
  • Emergency helpline available 24 hours, 365 days a year

Sliding doors

Standard sliding door locks are vulnerable, they are more a clasp than a lock and so need locking. Burglars find them easy to spring open and often target sliding doors. We can help safeguard your sliding doors for you by fitting key-operated locking bolts placed at the opposite top and bottom corners of the opening section.

Windows

Ground floor and basement windows are also often used by burglars to break in and need locking shut. Don’t forget about fitting locks on upper-floor windows, especially if they are close to drainpipes or neighbouring flat roofs.

We can fit key-operated locks to your windows, and we’ll recommend the type that we think is must suitable for your windows, whether the frames are made from wood, aluminium, UPVC or metal. Think also about fixing window bars, which act as another barrier to criminals thinking of breaking and entering.

Side doors, patio doors and weak frames

Good quality locks may not work as well as you’d like if they are fitted to weak side or patio doors, which are vulnerable if kicked hard by a determined thief. We can fit surface-mounted or key-operated mortise security bolts to help give your side and patio doors extra protection.

Off on holiday?

Don’t advertise your absence. Our advice when going away is to mow the lawn before you go, cancel your regular deliveries, put out the rubbish and ask a neighbour, friend or relative to check for and get rid of anything sticking out of your letter box while you are away.

Finally, lock all your doors and windows - not forgetting those on any sheds, garages or other outbuildings you might have. You don’t want to lock up your home only to leave tools in an unlocked shed that could be picked up by criminals and used to break in to your house.

What to do if the worst happens

If you come home to evidence of a break in, don’t go in, go and see a neighbour instead. Call the police from there and wait for them to arrive. The thief may still be inside your home. Staying out of your home also gives the authorities a better chance of finding evidence.

Board up windows, fit new locks or call us and we’ll do it for you at a fixed price with no call out charge or hidden costs. It’s important to fit new locks as thieves often return to the site of a break in - Home Office figures indicate a property is four times more likely to be hit if it has been broken into before.

Our mobile emergency locksmith service is the largest in the UK and we now also do emergency boarding and glazing. Our customer helpline is always available - 24 hours a day, every day of the year. If you’re locked out of your home or safe - or you’ve lost your window or door lock keys - we can also help.
