About us

Dyno - part of British GasThe Dyno Group of Companies is one of the most dynamic property care service organisations in the UK and Ireland. Dyno-Rod was formed in 1963 by identifying a gap in the UK market for drain cleaning, using electromechanical machines used to clean drains in the States. The Dyno Group became part of Centrica in October 2004.

From then on, Dyno has grown from strength to strength. Today, Dyno-Rod is the market leader and a well-known household name. With Dyno-Plumbing services and Dyno-Secure Lock and Security services, there are over 160 franchisees, employing several hundred people, operating from the Channel Islands to Scotland, and in ever expanding areas of expertise. The company's headquarters is based in Surbiton, South West London.

Areas Of Operation

The focus of Dyno is on 24 hour emergency response, providing a service to residential, commercial and industrial premises.

Dyno-Rod is the only drain cleaning service with full national coverage, and is easily the market leader. It currently has around 80 franchised operators, whose work includes clearing blockages, CCTV drain inspection surveys, drain repairs, and pipework installations.

Dyno-Secure Lock and Security services specialises in alarm installation and maintenance, gaining entry to buildings and cars, replacing/fitting locks and grilles, on-site key cutting and safe opening.

Dyno-Plumbing service is a rapidly expanding, specialist plumbing service offering: repairs to burst & leaking pipework, washing machine and dishwasher installations, repair of ball valves, water tanks and cisterns.

Delivering Customer Service The Dyno Way

The DYNO Customer Service Centre

All activity is co-ordinated from the company's headquarters. Located here is the central call handling and job despatch service which is manned on a 24-hour basis by the customer service team. Handling several thousand calls per day, the centre is fully computerised to ensure efficient and rapid recording of calls. Job details are then passed to the appropriate franchisee/engineer to ensure a speedy response to each and every customer enquiry. In 2000, Dyno carried out nearly a quarter of a million jobs - a number that is continually rising.
